Method 1: Using File Explorer
1. Open File Explorer: Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer.
2. Navigate to This PC: On the left-hand side of the File Explorer window, click "This PC".
3. Locate your flash drive: Find the flash drive in the list of drives (usually under "Removable Devices").
4. Right-click the flash drive: Right-click on the drive's name and select Properties.
5. Go to the ReadyBoost tab: Click on the "ReadyBoost" tab.
6. Uncheck the box: Uncheck the box next to "Use this device".
7. Click Apply and OK: Confirm the changes by clicking "Apply" and then "OK".
Method 2: Using the System Properties
1. Open System Properties: Right-click on This PC and select "Properties".
2. Go to Advanced System Settings: On the left-hand side, click on "Advanced system settings".
3. Open the Advanced tab: Click on the "Advanced" tab and then click the "Settings" button under "Performance".
4. Go to the Advanced tab: In the "Performance Options" window, click on the "Advanced" tab.
5. Click the Change button: Under "Virtual Memory", click on the "Change" button.
6. Uncheck the box: In the "Virtual Memory" window, uncheck the box next to "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives".
7. Select your flash drive: From the list of drives, select your flash drive.
8. Set to No Paging File: Select "No paging file" and click "Set".
9. Click OK on all windows: Click "OK" on the "Virtual Memory" window, the "Performance Options" window, and finally the "System Properties" window.
Important Notes:
* Removing ReadyBoost will free up space on your flash drive.
* The files used for ReadyBoost will be deleted. If you need those files, make sure to back them up before removing ReadyBoost.
* ReadyBoost is a performance feature, not a data storage solution. Don't use it as a primary means of backing up data.
